50th birthday ...

My brother is turning 50 on July 5th so I had to do something in black.  I saw this layout over at StampTV and thought it would work great with this bicycle image.  My brother is an avid rider so this stamp seemed appropriate for him.

DSP:  Black and White (Paper Studio)
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Nestabilities circle dies, brads, rhinestones, black BIC marker

Happy 4th of July ...

Today's card is for The Paper Players Summertime Theme Challenge.  Here is the inspiration photo ...

With the 4th of July right around the corner and that is the ultimate summertime fun for me, I knew I wanted something along those lines.  With my new stamps in hand, I started creating and ended up with this ...

Stamps:  Holiday Basket, Basket Additions 2 (GKD)
Paper:  White, Ballet Blue Real Red
Ink:  Memento Black, Real Red
Accessories:  Cuttlebug stars embossing folder, Nestabilities lacy square and square dies, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, Real Red ribbon, Bitty Banner Framelits, button brad (non SU), pop dots, corner rounder
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

  • The basket is not straight but after all the coloring I did, it was going to have to work.
  • The handles on the basket are movable.
  • Colored pencils were used since I wanted a different coloring method.
  • Card size is 6 1/4 x 4 1/2 as the basket is a big image. especially after matting it.
Other quick news ...

My pink tree card (here), was actually a winner in the Pretty In Pink challenge over at StampTV.  I'm still doing the happy dance!

Have a great day,

Frogs and Flies ...

I felt like coloring something different, so I dusted off this old Stampin' Up set, Frogs and Flies.  This was one of my first stamp purchases...from the late 90's.  After it was done I didn't know what I was going to do with it.  I headed over to Freshly Made Sketches and thought this would work well with their layout this week.  The gals at FMS are actually doing a blog hop for one of their own this week.  Be sure and check out all the adorable baby cards they made.

Here is my finished card ...

Stamps:  Frogs and Flies
Paper:  White, Calypso Coral, Black
DSP:  Pocketful of Posies
Ink:  Memento Black, So Saffron, Bashful Blue
Accessories:  Copics, Nestabilities Labels One die, Cuttlebug circles and dots embossing folder, scallop border punch, sponge daubers, pop dots
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

All things pink ...

Today's card is for a challenge over at StampTV. You are to use pink, stamp or color, something that is not normally pink.  This was a definitely a challenge but it was a lot of fun.
Stamps:  Farm Life, Dogwood and Butterfly (GKD), Up, Up, and Away
Paper:  White, Regal Rose
DSP:  Regal Rose
Ink:  Memento Black, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories:  Circle punch (Marvy), Nestabilities circle & scallop die, corner punch, SU markers, rhinestones, brad, pop dots, sponge dauber, ribbon (HL)
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I used my SU markers to color the entire image.  Since it was on glossy paper, the markers worked very well.

Have a great day,
