A Frosty MOJO

Wow, another month almost gone and the beginning of the last month of 2012 is about to start.  I started this month with a post so I'll go ahead and end it with one.  I have been working on Christmas cards so haven't had anything to blog until now.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch over at MOJO Monday - The Blog.

I went with the square card (4 1/4 x 4 1/4) ...

Stamps:  Snow One Like You - GKD
Paper:  White, Black
DSP:  Christmas Pad - Recollections
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders oval and scallop dies, Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, glitter ribbon - Celebrate It, Copics

This was a quick and fun card to make.  I think it will make its way to UAB to give my daughter a little love.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Patrick's birthday card ...

Wow, it's been almost a month since I've posted a card.  I'm still trying to figure out how to fit in my stamping along with working.  Kudos to all you wonderful and talented ladies that have that mastered.  I have to admit that standing on my feet all day and setting up the new Michael's store, was a lot of hard work.  It is very rewarding now that the store is open and the shelves are stocked.  The best part ... listening to customers saying how great it is to have Michaels in this part of town.

Bethany made a pit stop here last night on her way to Vanderbilt to see her boyfriend.  So we squeezed in some stamping time this morning before she got back on the road.  Her boyfriend's birthday is Sunday so we made him cards.  Here is what he is getting from me ...

Stamps:  Ain't Love Grand, Button Button
Paper:  White, Pacific Point, Real Red
DSP:  Pacific Point
Ink:  Memento Black, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi
Accessories:  Spellbinders octagon and circle dies, CB forest branches embossing folder, Bic markers, dimensionals, DMC floss, edge distressor, sponge dauber
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

A very clean and simple card.  Patrick's favorite color is green so I had to add a pop of that.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

A Wacky Whippet ...

Today's card is for my friend, Charlotte, who also has a whippet.  I wanted to give her a card to say thank you for my birthday lunch and gift card.  As I was uploading my photo, I realized that I've already sent her a card with this same  whippet stamp (here).  Oh well, at least I used a different layout and color and I've already written on the inside so it will still be heading her way.

Stamps:  Made for You, Whippet (unknown)
Paper:  White, Black
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  houndstooth embossing folder (CB), ribbon (unknown), Prisma Markers, pop dots
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great weekend!

Fall wheat ...

When I made this card, which was last week, I started with a sketch but the image was too big so I ended up just focusing on the designer paper.  This card will be heading to my GA brother.  He has a field up the street from his house that I always call the wheat field.  It really isn't a wheat field but it sure looks like it to me.

Stamps:  Always Thankful
Paper:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, White
DSP:  Simply Delightful (MME)
Ink:  Early Espresso, SU markers ... Old Olive, River Rock, More Mustard
Accessories:  blender pen, spritzer, pearls, Cherry Cobbler ribbon, sponge dauber, Nestabilities oval dies
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Hello Pumpkin ...

I'm having such a great time with coloring pumpkins and making fall cards this year.  Love this stamp set by Verve.  Today's card was inspired by this week's MOJO sketch ...

This is what my inky fingers created ...
Stamps:  Bountiful Harvest (Verve)
Paper:  White, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit
Ink:  Memento Black, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit
Accessories:  Swiss dots and swirls embossing folder (CB), sponge dauber, Copics, Signo gel pen, Nestabilities circle and scallop dies, ribbon (Non SU), glimmer brad
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.
  • I sponged Summer Starfruit and Old Olive around the pumpkins.
  • I added a little white dot on each scallop.  I've seen a lot of cards done like that and really like the look.
  • After embossing my white panel, I swiped my ink pad over it to ink only the raised dots.
  • I made a double bow (can't really tell by the picture) and finished it off with a glimmer brad.

After over 21 years of being a stay-at-home mom and volunteering, I am heading back into the working world.  I think I've found the perfect job for me.  A new Michael's is opening up near my house so I applied and got a position.  I am excited to start this new venture.  My daughter said "Talk about adding fuel to the fire."  I thought that was so funny ... and so true.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

War Eagle ...

Today's card is headed to Auburn but not to Michael.  This one is going to the apartment office with the rent in it.  I figure if I have to write that check, I am going to do something fun with it.  Don't know if they will appreciate it but I did enjoy making it.

My card was inspired by Pals Paper Arts sketch this week.

PPA143
I used the layout but just did a little flipping and rotating.  Here is my finished card ...
Stamps:  In Wilderness, Alphabet (unknown)
Paper:  White, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip
Ink:  Memento Black, Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue
Accessories:  Sizzix embossing folder, Copics, deckle scissors (non SU), edge distresser, sponge dauber, pop dots
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

After running the white cardstock through the embossing folder, I swiped my ink pad over the raised images.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Shake your Booty ...

Today's card has been stamped and sitting in my craft room for a couple of weeks.  Life happens ...

My inspiration came from MOJO sketch 257 even though it never got posted there ...

Here is my finished card ...

Stamps:  Bootiful Occasions, Button Button, Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Paper:  White, Black, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise
DSP:  Polka Dot
Ink:  Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories:  burlap, ribbon (non SU); Copic, Nestabilities oval and scallop dies, CB dots and circles embossing folder, sponge dauber, dimensionals
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.
  • Used the Button Button stamp set since it is less bulkier to mail than the real thing.
  • A piece of scrap burlap laying on my table made the perfect backdrop for this boot.
I have been stamping a little bit but just have not taken the time to post.  Hopefully over the next few days I will get those uploaded.  I completely understand why people take a blogging break. :)

As always, thanks for stopping by and ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

You Make Me Laugh ...

My inspiration for today's card came from Freshly Made Sketches ...
I'm on a masculine roll right now.  I've been sending cards to my son and nephew and don't have a whole lot in the college box.  So this will be another one for the guys in the box.

Stamps:  Card Games, Game Night
Paper:  White, Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, More Mustard
DSP:  Basic Gray
Ink:  Riding Hood Red
Accessories:  Forest branches and dominoes embossing folder (CB), corner rounder, dimensionals
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted

After embossing the dominoes on the white cardstock, I ran my ink pad directly over the raised images.  A very simple card here.

Have a great day,
Pam~

Man's best friend ...

Here is a quick card that I threw together for my college box using The Paper Players sketch ...

I think this is a great layout for a masculine card.  I didn't accessorize too much since it will be going postal and it will be for my son.

Stamps:  Ruff Day, dog bone (All Night Media)
Paper:  Vanilla, Cajun Craze
DSP:  Well Worn
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Copics, pop dots, Nestabilities rectangle dies
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Have to admit that I'm not crazy about the border around my rectangles.  That is one thing that I don't like about Nestabilities ... too much border.  I do like how quick it makes for layering though.

Have a great holiday weekend!

Thanks for stopping by,
Pam~

MOJO sketch

Today's card is for this week's MOJO sketch...a circle or square card.  I made a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card which is already in the mail to Auburn. I was playing around with my photo shop and I got the colors a bit brighter than they are in real life.

Here is what I came up with ...

Stamps:  It's the Thought
Paper:  Brocade Blue, Tangerine Tango, White
DSP:  Tangerine Tango
Ink:  Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  brads, Prismacolor markers, Nestabilities Label 2, Cuttlebug square embossing folder, Sizzix stripes embossing folder, itty bitty banner die, sponge dauber, pop dots
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

This was my inspiration ...

Verve card carnival

I uploaded this card to Splitcoast on Friday for Verve's Card Carnival contest.  I've had a fun filled weekend so am a little late getting it up on my blog.

Stamps:  Love Is, Feel the Sun (Verve)
Paper:  Basic Gray, White
DSP:  Simply Delightful (MME)
Ink:  Memento Black, Bordering Blue
Accessories:  Nestabilities Label 1 and border die, twine, button, edge distresser, sponge dauber, Copics, pop dots
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.
  • I distressed the edges on the DSP and then took my black SU marker and ruler and drew lines around each layer.
  • The flower was stamped twice and cut out separately from the leaves.  I attached the flower with pop dots.
  • The sentiment was sponged with Bordering Blue while still in the die to take away the stark white look.
  • Lots of patterns on this one.

I used the MOJO sketch as my starting point.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Verve challenge #5 ... ABC

This Verve challenge, ABC, is for Anything But a Card. I went into my own little craft shop (my closet) and found these tiles that I've had for ...  I'm embarrassed to say how long I've actually had them.  So I dusted them off and went to stamping.  So here is my ABC ...

Stamps:  Fabulous Fruits
Ink:  Real Red, Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories:  tiles
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I've included some other pictures of the tiles, which will be used as coasters.

I just wanted to pop back in and tell you how I sealed the tiles.  Sorry about leaving that out.  After stamping them, I set the ink with my heat gun and let them dry over night.  I then sprayed them with an acrylic spray to finish them off.  The first time I made these, we were told to bake them in the oven.  I did not do that and they work fine ... still using them.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Verve challenge 4 ... CAS

Two posts in one day ... still playing catch-up and having fun.  This is for Verve's challenge number four ... clean and simple.

With those words in my mind, I went to crafting and ended up with this ...
Stamps:  Ornamental Christmas
Paper:  White, Cherry Cobbler
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy
Accessories:  Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, Cherry Cobbler twine, ribbon and dazzling details, circle punch, dimensionals
All supplies are SU unless otherwise noted.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Verve challenge #3 ... A sketch

I'm only a week late in getting these cards done.  Late or not, it has still been fun playing along with the Verve challenges.  Today's card is based off their sketch ...
I knew I wanted to do something fall-ish.  This is what I came up with ...
Stamps:  Bountiful Harvest (Verve)
Paper:  River Rock, Not Quite Navy, Tangerine Tango
DSP:  River Rock, Not Quite Navy
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  burlap (Verve), Copics, Nestabilities circle dies, pearls, Tangerine Tango ribbon, scallop border punch, dimensionals
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I had so much fun coloring those pumpkins. After putting it together, I realized I had stripes going in both directions.  I just like my cards to have special character. :)

Have a great day,

Verve challenge #2 ... Anni-Verve-sary

Another card for the Verve challenge.  This one is to help celebrate their 5th Anni-Verve-sary.  I've always struggled with anniversary cards.  The challenge was to use silver or wood.  I choose to go with silver.

This is what the 'ole inky fingers came up with ...

Stamps:  Filigree Fantasy (Verve), Happy Anniversary (Stampabilities)
Paper:  White, Black, Rose Red, Regal Rose
Ink:  Versamark, Rose Red
Accessories:  Nestabilities label 4, ribbon and gems (non-SU), Sakura glitter pen, embossing powder, corner rounder, flower punch, sponge dauber
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I got the flower idea from LaLatty Stamp 'N Stuff.  She put up an awesome video on making these roses.  This was my first one to make so hopefully I'll get better with each one.

Have a great day,

Back to School with The Paper Players

Today's card is for The Paper Players Back to School challenge.  Since I have two heading back to college this weekend, this challenge was right up my alley.  Here is what I came up with ...

Stamps:  Bear-ied in Paperwork (Stampabilities), Button Button
Paper:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, White

Ink:  Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Nestabilities rectangle and scallop dies, circle punch, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, corner rounder, ticket punch, Baker's twine, brad
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I had a regular button on the card but decided to go with the paper one as it is so much easier to mail.  To me, it has the same effect...especially going to my son.

I used an old MOJO sketch (139) from May 2010.

Have a great day,

Eagle Scout Card

Here is another card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches.  I loved this sketch!

This card went to my neighbor who achieved the top honor of Eagle Scout.  I even went to You Tube to learn how to tie a knot.  This is a figure eight knot. I picked out a very simple one so I could follow the directions...hehehe.

Stamps:  In Wilderness, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper:  White, Brown (non SU)
DSP:  Paper Studio
Ink:  Memento Black Always Artichoke
Accessories:  Copics, twine, Bitty Banner Framelits, pop dots, Nestabilities Label One, eyelets (non SU)

Inspired by an old MOJO sketch ...

Here is another duo of cards from Bethany and myself from our afternoon of stamping.  She is all about having the same layout.  She is a FAST stamper so when I stamp with her, I have to do clean and simple cards in order to finish. She is always waiting on me and giving me a hard time about it.

Our layout came from an old MOJO237 sketch that she picked out.
Here is my take on it ...

Stamps:  Lucky Ducky (Verve), Circle Circus
Paper:  So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, White
Ink:  Memento Black, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Nestabilities circle dies, itty bitty punches, pop dots
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Here is Bethany's take on the sketch ...
Stamps:  Happy Together
Paper:  Midnight Muse, White
DSP:  The Paper Studio
Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals
Accessories:  Bitty Banner Framelits, circle punches
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Pals Color Challenge and FMS sketch ....

I have two cards to share today ... one is mine and the other one is Bethany's.  We spent yesterday afternoon stamping and had a wonderful time together.  I will post our other cards on a later post.  Today's cards are for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge and Freshly Made Sketches.  These are the colors to get the creative juices flowing ...
StarfruitMarinaRealRed

This is what I came up with ... a very simple card for my college box ...

Stamps:  Need for Speed, Vintage Labels
Paper:  Marina Mist, White, Red (non SU)
Ink:  Memento Black, Marina Mist, Summer Starfruit
Accessories:  blender pen, sponge dauber, CB stars embossing folder, SU Strips embossing folder, Nestabilities label six die, Bitty Banner Framelits, pop dots
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Here is Bethany's card for the two challenges ...

Stamps:  butterfly (unknown), So Happy For You
Paper:  Marina Mist, Real Red, Summer Starfruit, White
Ink:  Memento Black, Real Red
Accessories:  Summer Starfruit marker, Prismacolor markers, Nestabilities oval scallop dies, CB sticks embossing folder, Martha Stewart border punch, ribbon (non SU)
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I think Bethany's card came out absolutely adorable!  I love the little bow she added to her butterfly.  The funny thing about her card is that she got it all put together and then realized the base (Marina Mist) was upside down so the card opens up backwards.  Of course, she says it is my fault because I used it to see if I wanted the same color as my base and put it back wrong.  Gotta love stamping with someone!  :)  We both had a good laugh!

Pumpkin patch ...

I've been on a stamping roll again.  Today I'm posting a card for the Pals Paper Arts challenge.  This is a favorite of mine, especially since I was lucky enough to be on the design team last year with a fabulous group of stampers! The inspiration over at the Pals is a sketch this week ...

PPA139

Here is how I interpreted the sketch ...
Stamps:  Heartfelt - GKD
Paper:  Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke, White
Ink:  Soft Suede, Always Artichoke
Accessories:  Copics, CB Victoria embossing folder, Nestabilities circle dies, ribbon, sponge dauber, dimensionals
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I did change the corners where the circles are located from the original sketch.  When I tied my bow, it looked funny because the tails were on the top, but when I took it off and switched directions it was perfect ... except for my trimming boo boo on the tail.  Just some added character and emphasizes handmade. :)

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day!

Christmas in July ...

Do you ever finish a card and think, "Wow, this one turned out really good."  Well, when I taped my last piece down, I knew this was a keeper.  I fell in love with this cute little reindeer and how he came together on this Christmas in July card.
Stamps:  Santa's Helper - Verve
Paper:  Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
DSP:  Be Of Good Cheer
Ink:  Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Soft Suede
Accessories:  blender pen, corner rounder, mini brad, sponge dauber, dimensionals, Nestabilities circle dies, CB snowflake embossing folder
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

This card was done for two challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I used the color challenge (CC384) ... Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and the sketch (SC394).
I bought this stamp set just for the reindeer.  When I first saw him, I knew I had to have it!  I think he colored up very nicely with my blender pen and ink pads.  I added a mini brad to the flower on his hat for so umph.  This was a fun sketch to work with.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Feeling round ...

Here I am again hurrying to get my card posted before the gals at Freshly Made Sketches close Mr. Linky.  The kicker is, I had this card finished last week but didn't take a the picture until this evening.  I'm getting really bad ... or is it lazy ... about photographing my cards.  So without further adieu here is my card ...
Stamps:  Summer Solstice, Filigree Fantasy (Verve)
Paper:  Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, White
DSP:  Pink Pirquette polka dots
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Memento Black
Accessories:  Copics, Nestabilities lacy and circle dies, non SU ... blue gems, flower brad, Sakura glitter pen, Baja Breeze ribbon
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Here is my inpiration ...
I just realized when I pasted the sketch on my blog that I did not add a sentiment ... oops.  I guess I was focusing on the circles since I was loving this layout!  I added glitter to the butterfly but it is not showing up in the picture.  Another card for my college box.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~
