Best Daughter...She really is!

I really do have the best daughter...she likes to stamp with me when she is home!   Bethany is at college, UAB, majoring in nursing and I try and send her a card a week.  Unfortunately, I have not been the best mom and sent one every week this month.

For this card I used Bazzill cardstock and designer paper.  The image is one of my cute house mouse stamps by Stampabilities.  I love those little guys! I have a collection of them that I keep out for display.

Prisma markers were used to color the image.  Nestabilities circle dies were used to cut out the mouse and bear and the SU! oval punches were used for the sentiment.

The little mouse doesn't look so happy here...that's me missing Bethany.

I believe we have finally sprung into spring.  It is supposed to be very nice this week.  I hope everyone gets to go outside and enjoy the sun...get your vitamin D.  Thanks for stopping by...

A card for a Pal

I made this card a few weeks ago for Kris, a stamping Pal, whose mother passed away.  I didn't want to post it until  after it was received.  My heart still breaks for Kris and her family.  Unfortunately, I know how hard it is to heal after losing your mother.
Stamp sets:  SU! Three Little Words and Polka Dot Punches (I think)  I'm downstairs and my stamps are upstairs...can you say tired and lazy.

Paper:  sage shadow, pretty in pink and speckled white

Ink:  sage shadow, pretty in pink (markers & ink pads)

Accessories:  flower punch, bird punch, pretty in pink ribbon, brad, cuttlebug embossing folder

For the leaves, I used the bird punch which punches out the bird, a wing and a branch.  I took the branch and cut it so it would look like just leaves and put it in my embossing folder to give it some texture.  After looking at the picture, I wish I would have centered my words a little higher on the card.

It was a busy weekend with a soccer tournament .  Can I brag like a mom and say Michael had three great games.  I was in charge of the hospitality room for the coaches and referees.  I decided I would cook for 40 plus folks on Friday night.  I will never opt to do that again.  I called my hubby Friday afternoon stressing and the wonderful hubby that he is, came home early and helped me.  I had so much to load into the car, then unload and set up.  In the end, it went very well and I had a lot of fun.

This afternoon I thought I would play with my blog.  I did not realize what I was getting myself into.  I am not computer savvy at all.  Anyway, I thought I would make some changes.  I started clicking here and there and before I knew it the day was gone and I was like whoa...puppy prints are my background....so this is still a work in progress.  I wanted my heading picture to be centered but I could not get that to happen.  Oh well, right now this blog has a lot of character!    :-)

OMG...Can't believe it

I checked my e-mail this morning and got a great surprise.  My card for the PPA 34 challenge was chosen as a Pals Paper Artist Pick.  I got to add the cool blinky badge to my blog...yea!!!  This is all new to me and I'm so excited!!!

I always look at everyone else's cards and admire their work and think "I wish I was as talented as that."  Today I got a big boost to my confidence level...thanks so much!  Hopefully this will give me a bit of a push to try more challenges.

I hope everyone has a great day...I know mine has started with a bang and I'm lovin' it!

MOJO 131...here it is

I actually got this card done on Monday...woo hoo.  That is what happens when it snows in late March...you stay inside and play.  Saturday I was out in shorts and a t-shirt and yesterday I was wearing a sweater...crazy weather.  The good news is that none of the snow stuck but it was still quite chilly.  It is supposed to be 65 and sunny today...yea!!!

I used the MOJO 131 layout for this card.  Check out the sketch and details here.  I made this with Michael's birthday in mind.  He is turning 17 so you know how teenage guys think...very plain.  I'm not sure if he will get this or not as it is not my favorite.

Details:
stamps:  terrific tags punch, love ya bunches (used for the to you!)
cardstock:  kraft, always artichoke, raspberry, black
ink:  versacolor pigment raspberry and bamboo
accessories:  cuttlebug embossing folder, label die and square die, tag punches, twine, eyelets, and clear embossing powder

Have a great day and don't forget to smile at someone today.

PPA 34...it's finally done

I've been trying all week to participate in this sketch challenge.  I'm getting it posted just in time before the Pals close this week's link and post another.  The story of my life during soccer season...a day late and a dollar short.  Check out the sketch right here and come participate with everyone else.  It is so much fun!

The stamp set used for this card is Stampin' Up! Simply Spring.  I started with summer sun cardstock and used certainly celery for my layers. For the flower I used my SU! markers to color directly on the stamp and then used SU! chalks to color them in.  The designer punch was used to make the mat for my prima flowers.

I have another busy soccer week...games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.  I so enjoy watching Michael play and being a part of Grissom soccer.

Have a great week and enjoy your friends and family!

A CASE

Happy Friday to everyone!  It has been a fun week for us and I hope for you too.

The card that I'm showing today is actually a CASE (copy and share everything) from my new Paper Crafts magazine, March/April 2010 by C Birr.  I changed the color and stamped image.

Once again I used my Forest Friends SU! stamp set.  This little guy is so cute...reminds me of Bambi.  I used cool carribean, summer sun, chocolate chip and white cardstock.  I inked Bambi in chocolate chip to match the cardstock.  I ran the chocolate chip cardstock through my cuttlebug embossing folder.

Had a great day yesterday out on the golf course.  I was finally hitting the ball like I knew what I was doing.  I had lost my swing technique somewhere along the way.  I realized today I was moving my hands in my back swing.  Can't believe the week is over and the children go back to school on Monday.  I so enjoy my babes being home with me and my hubby taking off from work...love my family!

Have a great weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hope you're wearing your green today...don't want to get pinched.  I made a few of these cards to send to my family, unfortunately I never put them in the mail.  So, my dear brothers and family, please enjoy the card through my blog.  Sorry...  The good news, I'm ready for next year's St. Patrick's Day...yea!

I used handsome hunter ink and paper.  I sponged the edges as it was too white for my eyes.  For the clover and sentiment, I pulled out my old stamp set Lucky Me.  That is the only St. Patrick's Day set I have.  Each year I try and create something different.  So far I've been able to do that.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

MOJO 130 Sketch ...

It is Spring Break here in Alabama so Michael is out of school and Bethany is home from college.  Bethany enjoys creating cards just as much me...yea!  We've spent a few hours here and there stamping.  The card I'm showing today is for the MOJO 130 Sketch Challenge.  It felt great to participate in a challenge again.

I used the Forest Friends Stampin' Up! set.  It is the first time it saw ink.  I used my markers (really rust & old olive) to color directly on the tree stamp.  The cute little bunny is stamped in really rust.  The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. After looking it over when I was finished, I think there is too much rust.  If I remake this card, I  will use a different color on the bottom.  The ribbon is old olive from SU.

For those who are on Spring Break also, I hope you enjoy your week.  It does not feel like spring here at all...chilly, some rain, and lots of clouds.  Hoping that Friday will bring us some sun and warmer temps.  We all want to go golfing before heading back to school.

I also want to wish my nephew, Stanley, a great big Happy 18th Birthday today.

Have a great day,
Pam~

Flower Fancy...

It has been a while since I've been on here and now I've finally found some time to venture back to the Wacky Whippet home. The card below I made a few weeks ago.

I used my new set, Flower Fancy, for the focal image.  In order to the get the inside of the flower lined up and stamped, 'ole faithful stamp-a-ma-jig came into play.  I colored the white areas with my SU! summer sun marker.  The cardstock and ink are ruby red, black and white. The ribbon came from Hobby Lobby.  I thought the end result looked good.  This was a quick card to make and assemble.

It seems I've been making a lot of sympathy cards lately.  I love making my cards but sympathy cards are always the hardest for me.  I remember my mother telling me the older we get the more funerals we go to rather than weddings.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.  Don't forget to live, love and laugh everyday!
