First PPA challenge

I'm excited to participate in my first PPA challenge.  Head on over to Pals Paper Arts and play along too.  This challenge could not have come at a better time here.  It is freezing...literally...with sleet and icy roads.  The children are happy, they closed the schools early this afternoon.

For this card I used the Cold and Cuddly set.  I thought that was appropriate for this challenge.  It is so cold my walrus turned blue. I used Brocade Blue for the walrus and Mellow Moss for his hat.  The cardstock is Brocade Blue and  Mellow Moss.  I stamped the iceberg in Bashful Blue and used the same color chalk to color it.  The snowflakes were punched and attached with silver brads.  I ran my white paper through my bug with the snow dots embossing folder...and I thought it was done for the season.  I also ran the Mellow Moss paper through the bug with the swiss dots folder.  I sponged the edges of the Mellow Moss that is matted with the snowflake so it would stand out more.

I have seen quite a few cards with only two corners rounded and I love that look.  I kept forgetting about it until I saw Martha's sample.  Thank you Martha!

I really enjoyed doing this challenge and hope to participate in many more.

Thanks for stopping by....

It's a Bird-day...

I made this card for my neice who is turning 16 on February 3rd.  I used the Pun Fun set which always makes me smile.  It is just so cute.  I used apricot appeal and lovely lilac cardstock and apricot appeal designer paper.  Really rust was used to mat the little bird, brads and used my photo corner punch to add some rust to the corner.  Once stamped, nesties were used to oval cut the bird and mats.   The oval punches were used for the sentiment.  I added a piece of ribbon to help hide the seams where the papers meet.  The sweet little birdie was colored using my prisma pencils and OMS.

Now it is off to make a thank you card for our dentist and then put together my first SU! order as a demo.  Yeah!  Can you say I love free stamps!

Have a great evening,

Pam~

On a roll...

I had a chance this evening to escape to my craft room and do some creating. It is so windy outside that it just blew me right upstairs. I used the MOJO layout 122 designed by Mary as my inspiration. I did change mine a bit...oops. I used three eyelets for my sentiment.

My brother is having shoulder surgery on Monday so I made this card with him in mind. I wanted something bright...I think I succeeded.

I used the Happy Healing and Itty Bitty Backgrounds SU sets. The paper is green galore, brilliant blue, only orange and white. I used my new nestie labels...love 'em.

Off to bed...great day and I'm tired.

Smile...it's Friday

I thought I would take a break from working on my soccer stuff and relax. Best way to relax...head upstairs to my craft room. I wanted to get a card in the mail for Bethany in the morning. This is my creation....

I used the In Full Bloom set. One of my favorite flower sets of all time. I started with tempting turquoise as my base and went from there. The designer paper is ruby red matted on black. I colored the flower with my prisma markers. I used my ticket punch and then added silver brads for some bling. The flower panel is mounted on dimensionals. I thought the bottom looked empty so added smile from Petal Pushers. Still thinking it looked plain I added a bow...think I could have done without it but it's staying now.

I haved always just scanned my cards and then uploaded them. Since my hubby gave me a digital camera for Christmas, I took a picture of the card and then cropped it. The good thing about taking a picture, my bows don't get smashed on the printer.

I'm Back...a year later

Wow...time to try and get back into learning to blog.  I've just signed on to be a Stampin' Up! (hobby) demonstrator and would like to use my blog to share my cards.

Thank you to everyone at Pretty Pals for the great welcome.  Mary F. and Linda C. has been wonderful in helping me make the decision to join the Stampin' Up and Pretty Pals family.  I'm looking forward to this new adventure and getting my new goodies!  I do believe the "present man" is supposed to be delivering on Monday.  I've got a really busy week and a half ahead of me and then hopefully I will get to play.

Have a great day,
Pam~
