Birthday card challenge

Today I have a birthday card to share. Bethany was home this weekend so we stamped together ... so much fun! Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of her cards before she headed back to UAB. She looked through some magazines and found a simple layout that we were both to use. Her goal when stamping is to make simple cards that she can mass produce since she doesn't have a lot of crafting time. We both made birthday cards since I wanted to participate in The Paper Players birthday card challenge. I like to have lots of different kinds of birthday cards in my stash.

With those two elements in mind, my inky fingers went to playing and created this clean and simple card. Seems to be my style lately.

Stamps: Pun Fun
Paper: Vanilla, Pacific Point
DSP: Ice Cream Parlor
Ink: Memento Back
Accessories: photo corner punch, flower brads (non SU), Prismacolor markers, Spellbinders rectangle dies
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and the rest of the week is a good one! Mine was wonderful since both children came home. We went golfing on Saturday after watching those Auburn Tigers struggle for a win. It has been raining since Sunday but that's okay since we really need the rain. The temperatures have dropped too. It is actually chilly today at 65 degrees.

Have a great day,
Pam~

PPA Challenge Thursday

It's time for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge ... fun, fun.  This week the inspiration is an element of style -- to use ribbon or fabric.  Another concept I'm really liking ... keep it clean and simple!  Below is the photo that will get your creative juices flowing.

My creative juices knew I didn't want to do anything with Christmas colors.  Don't get me wrong, I love those colors but I've been working all week on my Christmas cards.  My eyes needed to see some different shades or color.  I wanted something simple, fun and youthful.  With that being said, this is my card for this week's PPA challenge.

Stamps:  Pun Fun, Happy Together, Itty Bitties, Itty Bitty Bits
Paper:  White, Black, Pacific Point
Ink:  Black, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Non SU products--ribbon, brads,CB embossing folder, Prismacolor Markers, decorative scissors, Scor-Pal, SU Itty Bitty punch, ticket punch, dimensionals
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.
  • My brad would not lay correctly on the bottom corner and I kept messing with it only to ruin the corner so I just cut it off...yikes!
  • I used my Scor-Pal to create the border at the bottom of my card.
  • I stamped the balloons once on the card and then again on scrap paper.  I cut out the balloons and adhered them to the card with dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Another Monday MOJO 146

Today's card is for my nephew who is having his four wisdom teeth taken out this week.  I figure he is not up to surfing my blog so I can go ahead and post this before he gets it.  I used the good 'ole faithful Monday MOJO sketch to get started.

Stamps:  Pun Fun, Itty Bitties (bought this set in 1997)

Paper:  Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue, Basic Gray, DSP  Night of Navy

Ink:  Black, Night of Navy

Accessories:  Prisma Markers, ribbon, CB embossing folder and square dies, Nestabilities circle dies, dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig

One of these days I will take pictures in the day and not at night.  I love the stamping part but not very good at getting the pictures taken.  Today I was actually ready to take the picture and my camera battery needed to be charged.  Go figure...

Have a great day,
Pam~
