Pumpkin patch ...

I've been on a stamping roll again.  Today I'm posting a card for the Pals Paper Arts challenge.  This is a favorite of mine, especially since I was lucky enough to be on the design team last year with a fabulous group of stampers! The inspiration over at the Pals is a sketch this week ...

PPA139

Here is how I interpreted the sketch ...
Stamps:  Heartfelt - GKD
Paper:  Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke, White
Ink:  Soft Suede, Always Artichoke
Accessories:  Copics, CB Victoria embossing folder, Nestabilities circle dies, ribbon, sponge dauber, dimensionals
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I did change the corners where the circles are located from the original sketch.  When I tied my bow, it looked funny because the tails were on the top, but when I took it off and switched directions it was perfect ... except for my trimming boo boo on the tail.  Just some added character and emphasizes handmade. :)

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day!

Christmas in July ...

Do you ever finish a card and think, "Wow, this one turned out really good."  Well, when I taped my last piece down, I knew this was a keeper.  I fell in love with this cute little reindeer and how he came together on this Christmas in July card.
Stamps:  Santa's Helper - Verve
Paper:  Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
DSP:  Be Of Good Cheer
Ink:  Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Soft Suede
Accessories:  blender pen, corner rounder, mini brad, sponge dauber, dimensionals, Nestabilities circle dies, CB snowflake embossing folder
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

This card was done for two challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I used the color challenge (CC384) ... Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and the sketch (SC394).
I bought this stamp set just for the reindeer.  When I first saw him, I knew I had to have it!  I think he colored up very nicely with my blender pen and ink pads.  I added a mini brad to the flower on his hat for so umph.  This was a fun sketch to work with.

Have a great day,

Feeling round ...

Here I am again hurrying to get my card posted before the gals at Freshly Made Sketches close Mr. Linky.  The kicker is, I had this card finished last week but didn't take a the picture until this evening.  I'm getting really bad ... or is it lazy ... about photographing my cards.  So without further adieu here is my card ...
Stamps:  Summer Solstice, Filigree Fantasy (Verve)
Paper:  Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, White
DSP:  Pink Pirquette polka dots
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Memento Black
Accessories:  Copics, Nestabilities lacy and circle dies, non SU ... blue gems, flower brad, Sakura glitter pen, Baja Breeze ribbon
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Here is my inpiration ...
I just realized when I pasted the sketch on my blog that I did not add a sentiment ... oops.  I guess I was focusing on the circles since I was loving this layout!  I added glitter to the butterfly but it is not showing up in the picture.  Another card for my college box.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Wildflower ....

I'm trying to squeak this card into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week before Mr. Linky closes at noon.  I'm also going to post it to The Paper Player challenge.  These are two of my favorite challenges to play along with. Here is my take on the two challenges ...

Stamps:  Feel the Sun - Verve
Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, watercolor (non SU)
DSP:  Greenhouse Gala
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Memento Black, reinkers--Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories:  aqua brush, Sakura glitter pen, dimensionals
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I'm still practicing on that watercoloring.  I even went and bought an aqua brush to try something different.  I still need to practice, practice, practice.

I cut the flower and leaves out separately and adhered the flower on with dimensionals.  I hope my sentiment speaks louder than my flower so that it fits into The Paper Players challenge.  :)

Have a great day,

PPA color challenge

Today's card is for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge ... even though I missed the deadline to submit it.
PPA138
These colors made me think of fall which a nice thought during these HOT days of summer.  This is what I ended up creating ...

Stamps:  Decorate a Daisy, Make It Count
Paper:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, White
DSP:  Daffodil Delight
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Nestabilities label 23 and big scallop die, bird punch, SU markers, Sizzix embossing folder, polka dot embossing folder, Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, sponge dauber, dimensionals
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

After stamping the daisy, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the scallop die to make it smaller.  I added some highlights with my Daffodil Delight marker.  Sponged the middle with some Cherry Cobbler and then popped up the sentiment with dimensionals.

I know leaves are not usually the color of Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler but I wanted to stay true to this color challenge.  In the picture, they almost look black.

Have a great day!

Sprinkled Expressions...

Today's card is for this week's MOJO sketch ...

Stamps:  Sprinkled Expressions
Paper:  White, Black, Daffodil Delight
DSP:  unknown...found among some old goodies
Ink:  Memento Black, Melon Mambo
Accessories:  Nestabilities Label 2, Sakura glitter pen, rhinestones, Bic marker, lace ribbon border punch, black ribbon
All supplies are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.
  • I colored over the big pink flower with a glitter pen to give it some shine.  It definitely added a much needed punch to this card.
  • The rhinestones were also colored with a black Bic marker.

I'm sure this will be heading to UAB once Bethany heads back to school.  I'm trying to make some cards so when everyone goes back to college they will get some mail.  My college student mailing list is getting longer this year as my niece will be a freshman at GA Southern.

Thanks for stopping by and as always...

Have a great day,

Asian Artistry ....

Today's card is for this week's Freshly Made Sketches.  Here is my inspiration ...
This is my take on this fun sketch ...

Stamps:  Asian Artistry
Paper:  Summer Starfruit, White, Elegant Eggplant, Watercolor
Ink:  Memento Black, SU markers--Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze
Accessories:  CB textile texture embossing folder, blender pen, Baja Breeze ribbon, Elegant Eggplant button, twine, Sakura glitter pen, dimensionals
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

To color the flower, I first added ink with the marker and then blended it out with the blender pen.  I've seen videos on this technique and wanted to try it.  It was fun but I still need a lot of practice!  This card actually looks a lot prettier in person.

My daughter and her boyfriend, Patrick, were playing cards while I was taking a picture of my card so I had to snap one of them.  I told them I was going to post it on my blog and this is their first reaction ...

Take two ... showing off their smiles now ...

Kickin' up yer heels...

I have actually been stamping the last week.  I've just not been taking the time to blog.  I usually do that at night while everyone is watching TV but I guess I've been watching too.

I used the newest layout from Freshly Made Sketches ...
I used the same piece of designer paper on my background so don't know if that really qualifies for their challenge.  I did cut it in two but added a piece of ribbon afterwards because it looked too bland to me.  I just realized that I adhered my boot panel the wrong direction from the sketch...oops.  So really this card loosely follows the sketch.

Stamps:  Bootiful Occasions
Paper:  White, Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
DSP:  Greenhouse Gala
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Accessories:  Cuttlebug star dies, Early Espresso ribbon, sponge dauber, stampin pastels
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

Thanks for stopping by and as always...

Have a great day,
