Basket of Fun ...

This project is for the second challenge over at StampTV for the April Guest Designer.  The challenge this week is anything but a flat card.  I made a birthday card that holds a candy bar.

Picture number one ...

Stamps:  Beyond Baskets, Basket Additions 2, Pretty Patterns (GKD)
Paper:  Early Espresso, Regal Rose, White (SU)
Ink:  Memento Black; Versamark; Regal Rose (SU)
Accessories: Copics; pewter embossing powder, gems (SU); rectangle and scallop dies (Spellbinders)

Picture number two ... the inside ...

Picture number three ...

The size of this card is 7 1/4 x 3 1/2.  I found the directions to make this on scor-pal.com.  The gems are colored with a Copic marker to match the brown cardstock.

I've been away from stamping and blogging for a bit.  My son is home for spring break.  We actually had a gorgeous day so went and played some golf.  Heading back out to hit the links again tomorrow so really wanted to get this card completed and posted.

Have a great day!

Hello ... Spring

It is that time again to have some fun with Gina K.'s challenges for the April guest design team.  Challenge number one ... use a technique from Gina's videos and make it feel like Spring.  Here is my take ...

Stamps:  Vertical Greetings & Things (GKD)
Paper:  Black, White
Ink:  Memento Black; Warm Lipstick, Broken China (T. Holtz)
Accessories:  Copics; wax paper; ribbon, pop dots (SU); swirl & textile embossing folder (CuttleBug)

I used Gina's video on using wax paper as your background.  For more details on how it works, check out the video here.  This was my first time to do this and I loved it.  Will definitely use it again.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day!

Holey Challenge ...

Stamp TV has a great challenge this week ... your paper has to have a hole in it. I used my oval dies to create my holes.

Stamps:  Farm Life, Heartfelt (GKD)
Paper:  Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, White (SU)
Inks:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Copics; Baker's twine, pop dots (SU); oval dies (Spellbinders); honeycomb embossing folder (Darice); button (Michaels)

I dry embossed my piece of Island Indigo with the honeycomb embossing folder.  Next I used a Copic marker to shade just the left side of each honeycomb.  I saw this technique over at Darlene Designs and thought it gave it so much depth.

Have a great day!
