Featuring Holstein ... FS258

I'm really late posting this card.  I actually started it on time but did not finish it until yesterday.  Can you say SLOW?

This card is for the Splitcoast Featured Stamper (FS258) Linda aka Holstein at SCS that was picked last week.  Linda has an awesome gallery full of fabulous cards of all kinds.  The reason I picked this card is that I had just purchased this stamp set and had not used it yet.  Plus I really liked Linda's card.  I just loved the blue roof on the barn.  Here is my take on Linda's card ...

Stamps:  Farm Life (Gina K.), Make It Count
Paper:  Real Red, White
Ink:  Memento Black, Real Red, Tim Holtz tea stain distressing ink
Accessories:  Nestabilities labels ten, Copics, oval and circle punch, sponge, pop dots, stripes embossing folder, twine.
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

I used the same stamp, layout and cardstock.  I changed where the twine is on the card, different layers and embossing folder and sentiment.

My disappointment in this card is that I messed up the barn door so I restamped it and colored it again.  I messed up the second one as I colored the roof brown.  I could have still used it but what drew me to Linda's card was the blue roof.  So after all that, I ended up using the original image with the messed up barn doors.  This is a well used barn and those doors have been worked hard.  Sound legit ... lol

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great weekend!

Up, Up and Away

Happy Saturday my friends!  Yesterday I got to stamp in between doing laundry and all that other domestic goddess stuff.  I went to Freshly Made Sketches for my inspiration.  My fellow Pal, Linda, drew a delightful sketch for us this week.  Love it, Linda!

I was thinking along the lines of Valentine's Day when I started making this card.  If I want to mail them out, I better get my fingers working.  So this is it ...

Stamps:  Up, Up & Away
Paper:  Vanilla, Poppy Parade, Pool Party
DSP:  Everyday Enchantment (Sale-a-bration)
Ink:  Poppy Parade, Pool Party
Accessories:  Nestabilities oval and scallop dies, Spellbinders border die, rhinestones, Bic marker, sponge, pop dots, Sakura glitter pen, blender pen
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.

  • The DSP will be available for purchase when Sale-a-bration starts.
  • The rhinestones were colored with a red Bic marker.
  • After the card was all finished I added some glitter ... love that pen.  Darn, if I didn't smudge two of the hearts with my hand.  Someone will still get this ... added character, right?
Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

PPA 127 ... it's a sketch

Good Morning to all!  Today the Pals Paper Arts are hosting a sketch challenge.  I love a good sketch to get the juices flowing and this one definitely did that.  Here is the starting point ...

PPA127 January 19
And the ending point ...

Stamps:  Heartfelt (Gina K.), Sweetly Said
Paper:  White, Pretty In Pink
DSP:  Pawstively Prints
Ink:  Memento Black, Pretty In Pink
Accessories:  lace punch, Pretty in Pink brads, sponge, Nestabilities scallop and oval dies, Copic markers, pop dots
All products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Because my focal image is so large, I did not center panels 2 and 3.  I also shortened panel 5 as I did not want to cover my lace border.  Hmm ... guess you can say I still followed the sketch. :)

Since there is pink on this card, I'm betting it is going to my daughter.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

MOJO for the Paper Players ...

A quick post tonight to upload a card for two great challenges.  I used this week's MOJO sketch and The Paper Players color combination.

Putting those two together, I came up with this ...

Stamps:  Dogwood and Butterfly (Gina K.)
Paper:  Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral, White
DSP:  Pear Pizzazz
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Petals-a-Plenty EF, baker's twine, swirls Scribbles Sizzlites die, pearls; Non-SU--Prisma Markers, Nestabilities oval and scallop die, pop dots
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.

When I was cutting out the butterfly, I accidentally cut off her antenna's ... oops.

It was rainy this afternoon so I had to use artificial lighting which does not make the best picture (in my case) ... sorry.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day/evening,
Pam~

A New Year ...

Happy New Year to all!  It's been a while since I've posted on my blog.  I spent the last month with my family and loved every minute of it.  It was wonderful to have everyone home again.  We played golf, disc golf, tennis and took walks during the holidays.

Today I took a few minutes for myself and headed to my craft room.  I wanted to play with the Pals Paper Arts since I have not done that in a while.  This week they are featuring a coloring challenge ...

I also looked over at Splitcoast Stampers to see which challenge I wanted to play with.  I decided on Clean and Simple using die cuts.  For Christmas Bethany gave me some Cricut cartridges and I thought that would be perfect for this card.  Here is what I came up with ...

Stamps:  You've Got Style by Gina K.
Paper:  Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red
Accessories:  Cricut Damask cartridge, Nestabilities scallop and oval dies, glitter pen (non SU), polka dot embossing folder, word window and modern label punch, rhinestones, blender pen, dimensionals
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.

I cut out the design on my Cricut in Baja Breeze and then glued it onto a piece of Not Quite Navy.  I then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the polka dot embossing folder.  Next I trimmed it down to the border of the polka dots.  Now I have a cool looking background!

The image was colored with my blender pen and Not Quite Navy ink pad.  I added a few sparkles to the belt on the dress and the heart on the coat hanger.

Have a great day,
