Purple and Yellow Challenge

The card below is for a challenge that Kris at Kween Bee Kreation, http://kweenbee.typepad.com/kweenbee/ , offered.  Her challenge was to use purple and yellow.  Stop on by her blog and check out the details.  I used Perfect Plum and More Mustard for my colors.  When I went to cut my paper, I messed up and cut at the wrong place so the card became a  5 x 5 square.  I ended up liking the end result.

This card is for Bethany's birthday...can't believe my daughter is going to be 19!  She came home from college this weekend so we celebrated a week early.  Her birthday is February 15th but she wants to stay down at college and celebrate with friends next weekend.  Gotta love the college life.

I used the new Sale-a-Bration set Happy Moments.  This card ended up having a lot of details that I was not expecting.  I made another mistake below the cake so punched a piece of perfect plum card stock with the word window, added some brads, and my boo boo is hidden.  That is the great thing about creating cards, you can make a mistake but your card is not ruined.  Many times your error ends up making your card look even better.  The purple flower on the right is a brad.  I used my crop-a-dile and added another brad to the middle.  I also used another Sale-a-Bration item...the scallop border punch.  It is so easy to use and adds so much detail...love it.

Thanks for stopping by. I need to get off my laptop and get ready so that I can get something accomplished on this wonderful Monday. I hope everyone has a great day!
