Thank you gifts

I want to give my soccer board a little thank gift at our end-of-the-season banquet.  I have a great board who help run our soccer booster club at the high school.  My upline, Mary Fish, and Pretty Pal, Kris, showed me some really cute journals that they altered.  Thanks for giving me some good ideas Pals!

I bought the little spiral notebooks at Staples and covered them with designer paper which I got at Hobby Lobby in a big patterned paper pack.   I used my cricut and cuttlebug to add the details on each notebook.  The soccer ball (Have A Ball) and definition (Define Your Life) are from Stampin' Up!

I made a pen holder using heavy cardstock and covered it with designer paper.  It was then attached to the back of the notebook with Scor Tape.

A quick post tonight...I'm tired but I did want to share my notebooks before calling it a day. I hope you all have a great week.  Make someone's day...smile at them.

PPA 39 ... KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetie)

Today's challenge is to keep it clean and simple...show lots of white space.  This card has done just that...shown lots of white space.  It looked a bit "naked" to me, so I had to go back and add some paint dots.

Stamps:  SU! Spring Song, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Paper: white, sage shadow, bashful blue

Ink:  memento black, bashful blue

Accessories:  bashful blue ribbon, label two nestabilities & cuttlebug, prisma markers

Today I also worked on making some thank you gifts for the soccer board.  I will take some pictures later and share them.

Thanks for stopping by.  I enjoy reading your comments and want to thank you for taking the time to do so.

Another Manic Monday

I hope you had a great weekend.  We had a good one with lots of fun activities.  Bethany came home from UAB for the weekend.  She started cleaning out her dorm room and bringing back stuff that she isn't using anymore.  Hard to believe that her first year of college is just about complete.

Today I wanted to show you a card that I created using the Stampin' Up stamp set Spring Song.  I used my prisma markers to color the image and went with non traditional colors.  Don't think I've ever seen a completely red hummingbird.  That is the good thing about stamping...you make it your own.

The cardstock is not from SU! and unfortunately I cannot remember where I got them. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye.

Have a fabulous week!  Until later...

Fun Friday

Quick question for those of you out there that use eBlogger.  Is your site running slow when you open it?  Don't know if it is me or the site.  I'm not having problems when I open other sites.

On to better chit chat...cards!  We didn't have our regular stamping day yesterday so we moved it to today.  I had a bunch of errands I had to do for our soccer team yesterday. I try not to go a week without stamping. Today's card was made using the PPA sketch challenge.  Click on over and give it a try.

Ingredients for this card ...

Stamps:  Very Punny

Paper:  Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss cardstock and designer paper, Black, White

Ink:  Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss

Accessories:  Cricut, Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder,

Details:  I used my Cricut George cartridge to cut the squares and sponged the edges of each square to soften them.

I would definitely classify this as a fast, clean and simple card.  I love it!    I'm not sure who the receipent of this card will be yet.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  I'm looking forward to the great weather that has been forecasted for us.

Thursday = Stamping Day

It's Thursday evening and all is good here.  Yesterday I could not say that.  At 2:30 a.m. my dog, Banjee, went out and grabbed a skunk.  Yup, he stinks now!  How he managed to grab it and shake it is beyond me.  Once the little sucker sprayed, he was spitting out skunk fur.  The smell was AWFUL.  Hubby I ended up at Wal-Mart at 3 a.m. in the morning buying tomato juice.  Hint...it really does not work.  We found a better de-skunker mixture on the internet.

Once again I was able to cover two challenges in one card.  I used PPA 37, a flower theme, and Splitcoast sketch challenge 275.

Stamp:  SU! A Flower For All Seasons

Ink:  black, SU! makers...regal rose, summer sun, mellow moss, rose red, bashful blue

Paper:  white, mellow moss, rose red, regal rose designer paper

Accessories:  ribbon, nestabilities dies

I did not have the correct color ribbon.  An easy solution when that happens is to take your white ribbon and run it over your ink pad.  I hold it in place with a sponge.

If you get a chance, do stop by Pals Paper Arts and participate in their challenge this week.  There is a blog candy give-a-way too....sweet.

Have a great weekend.

Two challenges...one card

Greetings on this beautiful Monday to everyone!  I'm beginning to think I blinked and missed spring but I'm still loving this warmth and sunshine.

I ventured to my craft room this afternoon to make a card for Michael for his birthday tomorrow.  Well....I knew I hadn't gotten to play with the PPA 36 color challenge and it was Monday which means a new MOJO sketch...so no card for Michael.  Actually I do have one that I've already made but it was not  my favorite and was going to make another.

This turned out to be a nice springy colored card.  Thanks Pals for challenge.  Want to play?  Click here.  For the layout, I used the new MOJO sketch, check it out here.

Stamps:  Flower Fancy
Paper:  Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Lavendar Lace & watercolor paper
Ink:  Staz-on Brown, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Lavendar Lace & Sahara Sand
Accessories:  brads, oval nestabilities, ribbon, blender pen

I tried something a little different for this card.  I stamped my flower image on watercolor paper and then used my blender pen and ink to color the flower and leaves.  I liked the end result.  I used a little bit of Sahara Sand ink to give the image a little shadow.  For the brads, I cut off the prongs and attached them to the card via glue dots.  I didn't want the prongs to show on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

Happy Easter...Hello Spring

Happy Easter to everyone!

The card that I'm posting today came from the video tutorial over at StampTV.  For instructions on how to make this card click here.

For this card the following supplies were used:

stamps:  Stampin Up! Happy Together
ink:  Not Quite Navy
paper:  Bashful Blue cardstock and designer paper, Not Quite Navy
accessories:  nestabilities oval dies, Scor Pal

I used my SU! Not Quite Navy marker and a ruler to draw some lines under my birds so it didn't look like they were walking on air.  I stamped Hello Spring on the inside.  This card was very quick and easy to make.

This set reminds me of the Partridge Family...loved that show!  Now if only some network would broadcast them again...ok, I'm showing my age today.

Had a great day yesterday watching Michael play soccer.  We came home with another win...yea!  Our big game is Tuesday night against their big rival and it is also Michael's birthday.  A win would make his day even sweeter.

Have a wonderful day and hope you find the golden egg.  I sure did!
