Playing with the Pals ...

I have not played with the Pals Paper Arts in a while so thought I would participate this week.  They had a fun sketch to get you motivated ...

PPA165[1]

I wanted to use some cardstock that I don't use often.  I looked through my stash and decided on Pool Party.   A pretty color but it is not one I use much.  Here is my finished card ... very simple ...

Stamps:  Flower Fancy (SU)
Paper:  White, Pool Party, Not Quite Navy (SU)
DP: Pool Party
Ink:  Always Artichoke, Pool Party (SU markers), Tea Dye (Ranger)
Accessories:  sponge dauber, blender pen, pop dots, baker's twine , scallop border punch, polka dot embossing folder (SU), oval and scallop dies (Spellbinders), Stickles

One of my flower petals has a white spot on it.  That would be because of operator error ... I stuck my finger in the Stickles before it was dry ...not once, not twice but three times.  I even heat set it but kept sticking my finger in it to see if it was dry.  Guess I would be one of those that has to touch the paint to see if it is dry even though there is a sign that says Wet Paint...

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day!

PPA 74 ... Sketch Challenge

I know I always say this is a wonderful sketch to work with and I'll use it again. Well, this sketch was so much fun to play with.  It can be a simple card or you could really dress it up.  Margaret Moody pulled a great sketch out of her magic hat this week.  Click on over to Pals Paper Arts and join in the fun.  Also, don't miss out on the event of the season when Pals Paper Arts unveils it's Best Dressed List for 2010 on December 30th.  See which of the previous Artist Picks makes the cut as the Best of the Best!

Here is the sketch for this week ...
Ppa74
Now here is what I created ...

Stamps:  Flower Fancy, Flight of the Butterfly

DSP:  Concord Crush
Ink:  Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait
Accessories:  Butterfly punch, pearls, dauber, dimensional, polka dots embossing folder, stamp-a-ma-jig
All supplies are Stampin' Up.
  • Flower Fancy is a two-step stamping set ... love it!
  • Used the stamp-a-ma-jig for the inside flower and leaves.
  • Pearls were added to the center of the flower for dimension.
I was really pleased with outcome of this card.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you and your families have a wonderful and safe holiday!

Merry Christmas,

The big bloom was stamped in black, colored with a blender pen using Cherry Cobbler and More Mustard ink.  I cut out the bloom and attached it with a dimensional dot.  I stamped and punched out the little flowers to add more color.  I added the sentiment and bird, from the Love You Much set, for more details.

Two challenges...one card

Greetings on this beautiful Monday to everyone!  I'm beginning to think I blinked and missed spring but I'm still loving this warmth and sunshine.

I ventured to my craft room this afternoon to make a card for Michael for his birthday tomorrow.  Well....I knew I hadn't gotten to play with the PPA 36 color challenge and it was Monday which means a new MOJO sketch...so no card for Michael.  Actually I do have one that I've already made but it was not  my favorite and was going to make another.

This turned out to be a nice springy colored card.  Thanks Pals for challenge.  Want to play?  Click here.  For the layout, I used the new MOJO sketch, check it out here.

Stamps:  Flower Fancy
Paper:  Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Lavendar Lace & watercolor paper
Ink:  Staz-on Brown, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Lavendar Lace & Sahara Sand
Accessories:  brads, oval nestabilities, ribbon, blender pen

I tried something a little different for this card.  I stamped my flower image on watercolor paper and then used my blender pen and ink to color the flower and leaves.  I liked the end result.  I used a little bit of Sahara Sand ink to give the image a little shadow.  For the brads, I cut off the prongs and attached them to the card via glue dots.  I didn't want the prongs to show on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!
