There is another birthday here ...

Today is my son's 18th birthday.  It is already hitting me that he will be graduating on May 20th and heading off to college in August.  My hubby and I will become empty nester's.  Ok, I am not looking forward to that.

As for stamping, I've misplaced that desire and haven't found it yet.  How sad is it to say, I'm not even missing my craft room.  I'm in a rut and will hopefully get my mojo back real soon.  The first part of this month is shot ... lots of fun activities planned.  Hopefully I will come back full of creative ideas!

Michael is a very simple kind of guy ... no plaid shorts or bright colors would ever be found in his closet.  Drives me crazy with all the awesome colors out there. Yes, he takes after his Dad ... lol.   With that in mind, here is his birthday card ...

Stamps:  Ruff Day, Happy Moments
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Night of Navy, Early Expresso, Confetti Cream
Ink:  Black, Night of Navy
Accessories:  sponge dauber, border punch (non-su), CB stars embossing folder, Nestie's label 2 die, Prisma Markers
All products are SU unless otherwise noted.
  • I had punched out a border to add under my star panel but I couldn't get it to look right.  I thought I would try something different at that point, and sponge over the border and then take it off.  I always like a new experiment.  Not quite sure what I think of this, but will probably try it again.
  • This layout actually came from The Paper Players a couple of weeks ago.  That tells you how long it took me to finish this baby. :)
Have a great day,
Pam~

Pam, this is too cute! I love the color combo and the embossed background...so perfect with that little pup! That sponged edge is such a cool technique that pack a great punch. I really need to get that set out agai, as it is one of my favorites! I understand about the lack of mojo. Some days you feel the creative-vibe, some days you don't. You're on your way to a come-back with this one for sure! Hugs! :)

Great card...love the colors and the image. Sorry your mojo has left you for a bit. That just happens sometimes.
You'll probably be so happy to have this hobby when you are an empty nester....keeps you from being so lonesome for your kids and having pity parties. Anyway, that is what it does for me.

I guess we both escaped with our lives on Monday during the storms. My neighbor and I went to a storm shelter and stayed until things calmed down. Just waiting for the next outbreak which may be early next week. Ugh!

Pam Great card! I love the embossing. I can relate to the loss of mojo I suffer from that often. More I can totally understand not being ready for sons graduation!! I know its the next step for them and us, but man it's tough for mom so proud but yet so .......hmm nostalgic I guess is a good word. I have a daughter getting married next year and wowzers she will be moving out :( again the next stage but ooooh will our house be quiet!! Hugz n blessings my friend.

Pam,

Wonderful birthday card for your son Michael! Great layering and sponging. I think we all need a break at some point and eventually your mojo will come back.
