Embossing challenge

This week the Pals Paper Arts is focusing on embossing.  A fun technique to do. I hope you will find some time to play with the rest of the talented Pals this week.

Since I do not have the pretty embossing powders that Stampin' Up offers, I always use my clear embossing powder.  I stamp my images in the color I want and then using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamp over that image in Versamark.  Just sprinkle it with embossing powder and heat it up.  Great results.  This week I thought I would emboss some bright flowers.

Stamps:  Fabulous Florets, Vintage Vogue
Paper:  Black, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, White
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Versamark
Accessories:  oval punches, pearls, sponge dauber, clear embossing powder, heat gun
All products are Stampin'  Up.

Here is a close-up of the flowers.

I love that shine!  I will have to admit, I am not one to do a lot of cutting out ... I stink at it.  I was a Barbie kind of girl and never did the paper doll thing.

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Fews days away....I did get to play

I impressed myself with two posts in one day and then stepped away for a while.  Even though I didn't post anything, I have been playing in my craft room and having fun.  Thursday is my usual craft day with Monica  and crafting we did.  I made the card below for the PPA29 challenge.

A few details:  I used White, Brocade Blue and Night of Navy cardstock.  My designer paper is from the SU! pack of Brocade Blue...just love how everything matches so well.  For ink, I used  Brocade Blue, Night of Navy and Garden Green.

I ran the white paper through my cuttlebug with the Stylized Flowers embossing folder.  I used my new clear mount stamp set Vintage Vogue from Stampin' Up!  I stamped one flower in Brocade Blue and then two in Night of Navy.  I cut out the Night of Navy flowers and leaves and adhered those with glue dots.  For my round border, I wanted something different so I punched out five little circles and then glued them behind the Friends panel.  A little more work but worth it once I saw the end result.

Quick note...if you are unsure about the new clear mount stamps, let me tell you they are fabulous.  They stamp just like the wood mounted ones.  Not only is the storage much better but it is so neat being able to put the image right where you want it without a stamp-a-ma-jig.

Once again the Pals at Pals Paper Arts came up with a great sketch.  I'm sure I will use this layout again...clean looking and simple to put together with great results.  Thanks Pals!  If you are interested in playing along, check out their website here.

The high school soccer season has started here so now I get to watch my son, Michael, play.  I love going to his games and cheering everyone on.  Our first game was Friday night and it was so cold out there...and they call this spring soccer.  The players are good, but I know they will get even better over this season.  They did win their game so it made sitting out there freezing a little better.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
