Man's best friend ...

Today's card is for my brother who just had to put down his yellow lab, Bailey, last week.  My heart just aches for him and his family.  Our dogs are truly the best friend we will have.  They are always happy when they see you ... no matter if you're gone 5 minutes, 5 hours or 5 days.

I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch this week for my starting point.

PPA131
I stayed pretty true to the sketch, except for the banner at the bottom.  I could not get it to look right on my card.  I fell back on 'ole faithful ... punches!  Here is my finished product ...

Stamps:  Fabulous Phrases, Will & Way (from H.L.)
Paper:  More Mustard, Black, Vanilla, Cajun Craze
DSP:  Cajun Craze
Ink:  Memento Black, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue
Accessories:  Copics, Bic marker, Spellbinders rectangle dies, word window and modern label punch, sponge daubers, dimensionals
All products are Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.
  • The vanilla panel was sponged with Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue to make a sky and grass.
  • I added rhinestones, which I colored black, on the modern label before I sent it off.  Added a nice touch.
I spent last week having a great time with Michael while he was home for his Spring Break.  No stamping for me and I didn't even miss it.  Though, I totally enjoyed my craft room today! :)

Thanks for stopping by and as always ...

Have a great day,
Pam~

Oh, I'm sorry to hear this and feel bad for your brother. I've been there and it is horrible. I'm sure getting this card from his sis will be a bright spot in his life. It' really adorable and I love you added the name...so personal.

Well, that delete was me...I can't seem to type today.

I'm back...meant to say I'm glad you got to enjoy time with your son last week...and what a beautiful week it was. Bet you two were on the golf course. :-)

BTW, if you see missing letters on my comments, like in the one above, I have a few keys that stick and I have to really watch it. It was that way when I got my computer brand new. Should have returned the keyboard.

I am so sorry for your brother's loss. There is nothing can ever compare to the unconditional love of a furbaby...Your card is amazing, and I know that your brother will receive comfort from it.

I know that I shouldn't have looked at the card but you told you had blogged about me so I had to look. I can't wait to see it. Thank you all for your condolences. It was a tuff day but I know it was best for Bailey. He was a great companion for the 10 years we had together and I will miss him dearly. Can't wait to get the card they are always great just like you. You always cheer me up when I need it. Love ya

Nothing worse than losing a wonderful pet.......your card is sweet though. Not an easy one to have to send!

Pam what a great card and your brother will appreciate your kindness. Pets are like family and the loss is tremendous. So sorry for your brother.
I too send a pet sympathy card to people I know who have lost a pet and I have a sweet poem I got from someone years ago that is so meaningful.
Glad you enjoyed your days off from stamping... I know I do too.
Hugs.
PS: thanks for the sweet comment on my hampster ... I mean bunny eggs! hugs.

It's one of the worst things to loose your 'best friend'! But your card has to be comforting, it's so darn CUTE! Just like you to add that personal touch with his name on the dog house!!!!
